Press Release Summary: Experience shows that interfacing an HMI or SCADA application
natively to BACnet is important in Building Management System! There is still a
possibility to interface with an OPC server but limited to the OPC interface and not
BACnet native! Newron System BACNet DataServer enables a native BACnet interface to
your Windows software for BACnet over IP or BACnet MS/TP

Press Release Body: BACnet technology is broadly used at management level and adding
an interface to a BACnet system is somehow mandatory for any SCADA or HMI.

The solution of the native OPC server is a good solution. Newron System OPC server
for BACnet is indeed very powerful. It supports every BACnet object and manages
every BACnet service. But OPC server is an external piece of software limited to OPC
interface.

Another solution is to use a BACnet development kit. Several BACnet development kits
do exist on the market but development time is very long and not optimum! Why?
Because BACnet development kits are purely dedicated to BACnet devices management.
It embeds every function to create objects, to manage every service,. Quite huge and
only 20% is used when you need to create a BACnet Operating Workstation (OWS).

There is a need of a simple BACnet DataServer to quickly interface a Windows
application to the BACnet network. A simple piece of software able to scan a BACnet
network, read/write BACnet objects, manage polling and event driven operation (COV)
and where you only need to mark / unmark properties and the DataServer manages
everything for you. A complete, reliable and enhanced monitoring engine with a
simple interface to quickly develop a native standard BACnet interface for any
Windows based software.

NEWRON SYSTEM DataServer runs as a service and is invisible. It is delivered
together with a BACnet discovery tool that also permits to filter the objects and
properties you want to monitor. It supports polling but also event driven solution
thanks to the COV service. It uses every advanced BACnet service such as
ReadMultipleproperty to get several properties within a single transaction.

The programming interface is very simple, with few objects and programmable in .NET
or COM. There is basically no need of deep BACnet know how to implement a native
BACnet driver. Be ready, be compliant and very quickly!!
